This presentation will cover the legal foundations of both deputyship and personal injury trusts, discussing their advantages and disadvantages. It will also address the Court of Protection's approach and criteria for ordering each option.

36. STUDY DAY - Sex, Disability and the Law Part 2 - 22nd November 2024 - London
Overview: Do you feel that Case managers/support workers should be able to help vulnerable clients engage the services of a sex worker? The controversial ruling in April 2021 that allowed care teams to engage the services for their clients was then overturned at appeal in October 2021. This has sparked a huge debate within our profession and one that many feel is discriminatory and in breach of human rights.
20. Level 3 - Safeguarding – Adults and CYP - 26th November 2024
Overview: This certified course is suitable for Case Managers, Rehab Professionals, Specialist Care Providers and for others who work in similar roles within the ABI / Spinal Injury Sector to gain essential level 3 training in this important area of work. There would be an expectation from regulators / commissioners that staff who work at this level have attended a full day level 3 training at least once every 3 years.
21. Level 4 - Safeguarding Adults and Children - 27th & 28th November 2024
Overview: This is a 2 day workshop which aims to develop Level 4 knowledge, skills and competencies for safeguarding children and adults at risk so that participants can undertake the roles and responsibilities for taking a lead safeguarding role within their organisation. It will be predominantly aimed at those working in Case Management, Rehabilitation and Specialist Care agencies who work with clients with ABI/Spinal Injuries. This course is aligned to the Bournemouth Competency Framework and the Inter Collegiate Document (both available on request).
37. STUDY DAY - Management for Managers Part 1- 6th February 2025 - LONDON
This study day is designed for HR managers, company executives, case managers aspiring to establish their own business, independent case managers, and anyone interested in learning more about employment rights.
During the morning session, delegates will learn how to ensure compliance with employment law and IR35, explore the benefits of employing case managers directly versus using associates to determine the best approach for their business, and understand the impact of CQC regulations on their work. Additionally, they will examine the pros and cons of directly employed teams versus agency staff, discover strategies to overcome challenges in managing directly employed teams, and participate in an open floor Q&A session.
The afternoon session is designed to help managers understand the legal, financial, and ethical implications of employee wellbeing and inclusion, laying the foundation for a happy and high-performing workforce.
