Maximising your Clients’ Recovery

CMSUK are pleased to present this lunchtime webinar by Energise Health. The webinar will focus on the principles of recovery and how self-management can support client's rehabilitation in conjunction with other clinical and therapeutic measures.

 

Dr Dee Burrows PhD, BSc (Hons), RGN, RNT

Dee was awarded her doctorate in 2000 for her thesis on the identification and use of self-generated pain coping strategies.  She has been involved in pain research and service development, returning to full time clinical work in pain management 15 years ago.  She sees a wide variety of patients; undertakes medication reviews, TENS / ENM treatments and delivers individualised Pain Education Programmes based upon the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and / or Compassion Focused Therapy.  Dee works part time in the NHS and independently with people who have sustained a personal injury. 

Dee is Chair of the Primary & Community Care Special Interest Group (SIG) of the British Pain Society and a member of CMSUK and the Research Committee.  She co-authored the Faculty of Pain Medicine standards for nursing practice in pain and is currently involved in several initiatives on the rationale use of opioids.

Victoria Collins, BSc (Hons) OT

Victoria is a registered occupational therapist with over 12 years’ clinical healthcare experience in hospital and community settings within the UK and South Africa. Specialising in personal injury case management since 2008, she has worked for a number of high-profile case management companies across the injury acuity spectrum, both as a case manager and senior manager.

She has a broad skill base, including clinical expertise as well as business, managerial and entrepreneurial skills. Her clinical expertise spans orthopaedics and trauma, neurology, chronic pain, hand therapy, mental health and geriatric rehabilitation. Victoria is also an experienced practitioner within the field of vocational rehabilitation and is a skilled case management trainer and mentor.     

A Director of CMSUK for 7 years (2013-2020), Victoria served as Chair for both the Events and Communications Committees. She is currently a member of the Communications Committee.
