Introduction to Case Management for Support Staff

CMSUK are excited to provide this online learning opportunity which will provide information about case management to support staff within the industry. This webinar will explain the role of a Case Manager, the professionals that they work with and a basic overview of the litigation journey.

We recognise that whilst support staff are experts in their field of work, that an understanding of case management would be beneficial to their development within their roles and organisations. This webinar will provide an overview of case management to support staff working in operations roles within the industry such as finance, administrative and HR staff.

Speaker One

Name: Helen Ovans - CMSUK Director

Profile: Helen is a registered Occupational Therapist by profession, with clinical experience of acute, post–acute, community and vocational rehabilitation in the private sector for people with acquired brain injury.

She has a diverse professional background, having started her career working for commercial sales companies, progressing to managerial roles. She later retrained as an Occupational Therapist with a particular area of interest working with brain injury and catastrophic injuries.

Helen also works as a HPL lecturer for Worcester University, collaborating on the development of a student led clinic and lecturing to both undergraduates and graduate AHP students.

She has worked as a case manager with a complex adult and paediatric case load for several national case management companies. She now provides professional mentoring to case managers at Independent Living Solutions, bringing together commercial, clinical and educational experience to support the development of individuals in the case manager role.

As an active member of the CMSUK Events and Research Committee she is passionate about innovation and development of best practice to promote the professional development and evidence base for case managers.

 

Speaker Two:

Name: Sian Bailey - CMSUK Membership Sub-Committee member

Profile: Sian Bailey is a member of the CMSUK Membership sub-committee where she has volunteered for 18 months.  Sian is a Case Manager with Circle Case Management and her background is in Occupational Therapy.

 

Speaker Three

Name: Clare Parish - CMSUK Operations Coordinator

Profile: Clare Parish is the Operations Coordinator for CMSUK and has over 15 years’ experience working as an Office Manager.  Clare joined CMSUK in June 2019 after a long career working in the engineering industry where she supported over 70 colleagues within the Oil & Gas business.  She is also a trained Mental Health First Aider through MHFA England.  Clare especially enjoys events organisation and delivery and is passionate about knowledge sharing and recognising the value and expertise of support staff within the case management industry.

 

Speaker Four

Name: Katie Murray - CMSUK Membership Administrator

Profile: Katie joined CMSUK in September 2019 as their Membership Administrator. She has over 15 years’ experience of working within Recruitment and Administration, managing accounts within the Charity and NFP sector.

Katie enjoys working closely alongside the CMSUK Membership and is keen to enhance the profile of CMSUK within the case management community. She is also the Social Media Coordinator working closely with the Communications Director, ensuring that our members are kept updated with industry and CMSUK news!
