Overview: A personal reflective of the amputee rehabilitation journey.

Learning Aims:

To provide greater insight into the challenges of limb loss from the perspective of a young bi-lateral amputee. Tracy’s patient and rehabilitation lived experience will identify the support that exists, what works well and highlight the gaps in the pathway. She’ll share the coping strategies that were important to her own recovery and knowledge gained through supporting other amputees.

A patient’s experience of the amputee rehabilitation pathway of a complex needs service user. The clinical and non-clinical support available to holistically support amputees and their families. The ongoing and ever changing lifelong challenges of limb loss. Challenges, solutions, opportunities.

An improved awareness of the limb loss sector, what’s currently available and the gaps in support.
