CMSUK Webinar: Assessment and management of self- harm and suicide

We are pleased to announce that booking for our lunch-and-learn webinar ‘Assessment and management of self- harm and suicide’ is now open. This is the seventh in our 2018 series of webinars which are being offered free of charge to Members (and Pending Members) as part of CMSUK's quest to offer greater access to training and support for members.

The session focuses on gaining an understanding of suicide and self-harm with an overview of statistics and information on developmental and risk factors. Suicide risk assessment is explored in more detail with the inclusion of a validated suicide assessment tool, with attention given to decision-making process and potential actions to take in order to manage incidences of self-harm and suicide to keep people safe.

Aims of the presentation:

  • Improve awareness  about self –harm and suicide
  • Increase knowledge in regards to assessment of self-harm and suicide
  • Understand what actions to take should risk of self-harm or suicide be identified
  • Be able to make an onward referral

Clare Price, Head of Psychological Services at CBT Clinics

Clare has 26 years of experience in mental health. Spending 18 years in the NHS where she began her career as a Mental Health Nurse before specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and lecturing in CBT at Hull University. Clare moved into the private healthcare sector in 2010, where she designs and delivers award-winning psychological services for organisations in the insurance, personal injury and corporate wellbeing sectors to a range of customers including key FTSE 100 companies.
