Chronic Pain

Aims:

  • To update your knowledge of pain, in particular chronic pain, and the way this lived experience is embodied and influenced by many factors
  • To give you an understanding of a complete and highly individualised rehabilitation programme
  • To give you tools to use in your day to day interactions with clients that help them with their pain

 

To learn:

  • A contemporary, biopsychosocial model that is being used to understand pain and to guide treatment/rehabilitation
  • The detailed content of a highly individualised programme: what to do, why it’s useful and the all-important (and often forgotten) know-how
  • Tools you can use as a case manager: eg/ how you set the scene in the assessment, the language you use, the services you draw upon, the importance of self-care

Meet the presenter: 

Richmond Stace is a specialist pain physiotherapist who helps people overcome their chronic pain and live their best life. He has worked alongside case managers for many years, delivering individualised care to clients who are stuck with their pain. Richmond is the pioneer of pain coaching, which brings together his background in nursing, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, pain science and coaching to educate, empower and enable clients to achieve their goals. His clinics are in Harley Street and Chelsea as well as working online. Richmond regularly delivers teaching, training and 1:1 mentoring on personal development and chronic pain to healthcare professionals, including humanitarian work in Gaza where he is leading the training for local clinicians. He has a book coming out this year, which is a complete, practical and highly actionable pain coaching guide for people suffering chronic pain.
