CMSUK Case Manager of the Year Award 2009

We were very pleased to award the Case Manager of the Year award to Ann Marie Murphy who works for Salus

Ann Marie Murphy is an NHS health professional and Case Manager with over 8 years experience working in the National Health Service.  Ann Marie graduated with a BA Psychology (Hons) degree from Strathclyde University, Glasgow before going on to work in the field of learning disabilities and work as a volunteer Counsellor for over 5 years with Childline Scotland. 

After working as a Senior telephone helpline adviser for a private company Ann Marie joined the National Health Service as a Smoking Cessation Adviser in 2001.  She feels the skills and experience gained from listening, supporting and motivating people in previous posts attracted her to Case Management.

Ann Marie has been responsible for the development of several Case Management projects targeted at improving health with an end goal of retraining or securing employment and has contributed to the growth and expansion of Salus Case Management Services in Scotland.  She has been involved both in setting standards and providing training for her colleagues.

Ann Marie is currently Case Managing within 3 key projects in Salus Occupational Health and Safety working with ex offenders, workless clients, and employed clients having difficulty sustaining employment due to health difficulties.

Ann Marie has been a member of the CMSUK since 2005 and Salus Case Management Services joined as a corporate member in 2007. Since then Salus have been involved in several CMSUK events and Case Managers have undertaken CMSUK affiliated training.  Salus joined the CMSUK to support their standards of practice and follow a national code of ethics for Case Managers. 

Ann Marie is really pleased to have won the CMSUK Case Manager of the year award.  She stated:

 "I'm delighted to have won this award not only for myself but for the whole team at Salus Case Management Services.  Everyone has been working really hard to provide a high quality specialist service to clients and it is fantastic that the work we do is being recognized by such an important organization."
